yeah thanx man!
spore question was really because I didn't want to cause my mushrooms to senescence through repeated cloning, and it would be nice to be completely self-sustaining (avoid ordering syringes). but I think I have plenty of spawn. I'm definitely going to take some prints with my grow so I can experiment with germinating spores.
I got really small fruits last time, caps maybe the size of a dime...could have been because of low water content, the gypsum i used (got it from drywall, maybe had fungicides), and because I only used large smoking chips with a small amount of bran. Basically, not enough nutrients, water, and possibly a poisonous substrate. :P mildly disappointing...
I'm going to try your substrate, thanks for the help dude!

Continually starting from spore so your culture stock is fresh is one way of doing it, but what most people do is keep young mycelium on agar slants in the fridge so they can keep growing from the same culture without causing it to senescence. If you start from spore you will have to isolate then test all the strains to see if they have characteristics you like. Good luck on your next grow!
