buying a gun - weed conviction

ive been meaning to get a gun for a while, but NJ is a lil gay about getting one, you have to go to the police station and get fingerprinted and fill out some forms. so i finally got up the balls to go to the police station and fill the shit out - usually im trying to stay as far away from the fuzz as possible. i have a couple of convictions though, possessing weed 5 years ago in college and calling in a bomb threat in middle school, they called it terroristic threats 3rd degree, this was like 12 years ago. those arent the kind of things that would prevent me from getting it, would they? they better not deny me, or ill be real pissed

You went to traffic court for being a terrorist? Or for being a drug addict?
Regardless - as long as you dont have a felony conviction you're allowed to own a gun. I guess its possible your state has stricter laws - but thats generally the rule.

30 days? Wow, your state must still have some of the very old archaic laws in place. They have instant background checks here, and in most states now...

yea, you have to get a card to be able to purchase which takes 30 days, and then when you buy the gun they do another check which can take 3 more days

In Kansas it was 5 minutes and you were out the door with a AK,drum mag, silencer, folding stock,bi-pod.......
I am thinkin the fire alarm will keep you from gun ownership.

You must be a little confused. No matter what state you live in, to own a silencer you have to pay a $200 dollar tax, then wait for the FBI check.

Yeah in my state its an instant background check for rifles, and a 7 day waiting period for handguns..... which is why i bought mine at a gun show . They either dont background check you or they run it after you've already left with the gun (the waiting period is as long as it takes to count your cash) - i'm not sure which, but neither makes much sense. You also dont have to pay taxes at a gun show...

Gunshows are subject to a new law which requires BG checks now.

Since when? This was only 9 months ago or something. they've been talking about 'closing the gunshow loophole' for at least a decade now...

While I haven't been to a show in a while, it wouldn't suprise me at all if they had closed the loophole recently...I mean, remember who our new president is.

No ,its at the gun shows, all you need to do is ask every seller there if they are registered sellers,if not ,you can buy anything at all there, when I was out there ,they busted a big show in Witchita for this very same thing.
They had browning .50 cal bmg fixed machine guns for 3999.00,with the 100 round box and extra belts.. Tenn. is where its really at ,mortars and heavy artillery for the askin.
I know the actuall gun shops have a wait on full auto and silencers, but it is less than a month.

Not to doubt you unretarded, but I've been to a lot of gun friendly states, and to purchase a silencer/full auto you still have to have it transferred through a class III and pay the tax stamp regardless of the state.
The only people I can imagine wouldn't follow that law (as you will be thrown in federal prison for violating it) are black market arms dealers, and, well...they don't sell their wares at gun shows, ya know?

No. Anyone that can own a firearm, by federal law, can posses a silencer. You only have to fill out a form, pay a $200 tax, and wait several months on the FBI. Trust me, Im in the process.
