New Roots?
    #9780304 - 02/11/09 07:03 PM (15 years, 1 month ago)

I took a cutting from my hibiscus, and these appeared a few weeks later:

do they look like new roots or some kind of fungi/mold?

yay, i did something right!  lol.

i figured because it's a tropical plant, it wouldn't root properly because my room is 55-65 degrees.
i'm going to configure a greenhouse contraption soon methinks. :strokebeard:

Well hibiscus are generally fairly woody, it could be roots just leave it and see, I've had rubber tree plants root in water and they are near solid so it is possible.

ime with rooting woody cuttings. as soon as the lil root buds appear its ready for some nice moist airy soil

i could root brugmansia cuttings in around 2weeks max, and have roots shooting out the bottom of the pots,

no rooting hormone or gel, water till buds appear, directly to soil...

i guess the point im tryin to make is that if uve gotten ^that far, youre going to be growing a new hibiscus soon!

congratulations
