Rye Grain Flakes

Hi,

I couldn't find any whole rye grain anywhere, but was able to find rye grain flakes. Has anyone tried this? They are whole grain with no additives.

Sounds like it would get mushy, like soggy corn flakes. You don't have to use Rye. MIllet is asy to find and colonizes very quickly. Remeber to rinse it after steeping it though.

Use birdseed (which is mostly millet). works great and its cheap and easy to find. Just make sure you get the kind without too many sunflower seeds.

If your gonna use millet, go to a pet store that carries products for exotic birds. You can usually find straight millet for a reasonable price. Roadkill pointed me in this directon and it is the gospel truth.
