47-year-old man weds 8-year-old girl in Saudi Arabia, legally
Although this is certainly not the first time this has happened, Sharia laws permit men to marry girls as young as eight.
This specific story started a campaign to save this little girl's life. Her mother is pleading to the world through you tube, to prevent this marriage because the father holds the rights of her children. She is trying to prevent her child from growing up married.
Although some Islamic laws does not permit minors to have sex before her first menstruation, but who in their right mind would trust a 47 yr. old who chose a young child as their life partner?
