dunno what to do
    #976465 - 10/20/02 07:32 AM (21 years, 7 months ago)

I am having problems fruiting one cake and 1 mycobag umm blob in my fruiting chamber* the bag itself got beat up so i cant use it*

this is my current setup:
one 5 gallon doughnut glaze bucket with lid-lid has saran wrap window.
perlite is in the bottom and and a bubbler on 24/7
ok so the cake and the mycoblob both got all fuzzy mycelium on them and little mycelium pins are appearing all over them.  the cake has 2 pins. one realy small i thinks its aborting  the other is about a querter-half inch long and looks almost like it has mycelium flakes on it.  but heres the problem they have been this way for over a week!

the cake im pretty sure is mazatapec.  the mycobag is a neat situation i injected puerto rican i think in it  months ago but it was too dry.  well i decided after a while id re-moisten it. so i boiled water and for the hell of it droped a multi vitamin in there.  injected the boiling water into the bag and put it away to cool before i innoced it.  when i went to get it it was already half colonized!

soo anyways what should i do?  i have condensation on the walls of the terrium it feels very humid when i open it up.  am i being impatient?  or should i maybee case them in verm or someting?    ive never cased before.

anyone have some suggestions?

I would try to case em, but if you don't know much about casing, I would go look up some info then try.

What inspired you to use a mulit-vitamin, my friend? That sounds like a brilliant idea and I hope that everything works out well for you!!! Do keep us posted as to the progress of the vitamined water!!!

I just thaught vitamins. cant be bad lol. but the bag with the vitamin water fully colonized in less then a week. ??

but i am having very slow fruiting like i said. i dunno if maybe there chamer is too humid with the perlite and bubler or not enough air. i started fanning and only turning the bubbler on 3 or so times a day for about an hour.

if i were to case them with verm i dont need to perlite or anything in the chamber right? maybee just the bubbler?

time to read teks

any other ideas?
