 Accused marijuana growers to stand trial [FERNDALE]

A Ferndale couple accused of running a large marijuana growing business in their house have been ordered to stand trial in Oakland County Circuit Court.
Craig Gilmore, 55, and his wife, Belinda Gilmore, 57, face trial on felony charges of maintaining a drug house, and manufacture and delivery of marijuana.
Ferndale 43rd District Judge Joseph Longo ordered the couple to stand trial after Ferndale police officers testified at a preliminary examination for the couple Thursday.
The officers told the court they went to the Gilmores' house in the 1400 block of Pearson on Dec. 3 on reports of a sounding burglar alarm there.
Police said they found a door at the house open and the couple away from their house.
"Outside the open door officers immediately smelled the odor of fresh unburned marijuana near the doorway," said Ferndale Police Lt. William
Wilson. "The officers walked into the house and right away found a grocery bag of marijuana in the living room."
Officers kept finding more marijuana — and thousands of dollars in cash — as they made their way through the house, Wilson said.
When police got to the basement they say they found the marijuana growing operation.
"There were more than 90 marijuana plants growing down there, each one of them about two feet tall," Wilson said.
Police said they also found 12 pounds of dried marijuana, $52,000 in cash, growing lights and fertilizer.
The Gilmores were arrested when they came home a short time later.
Police said Craig Gilmore, a computer programmer with a good job, told them he started selling marijuana in college.
The Gilmores are scheduled to be arraigned before Oakland Circuit Judge Edward Sosnick at 1 p.m. Feb. 18.
Police have seized the couple's two cars, $80,000 in bank accounts, and $60,000 from a safe deposit box.

that sucks. that y you should always have dogs. get a pair of akitas and no one will dare enter your house. not even the cops

First, how hard would it have been for the husband and wife to each get a medi-recommendation?
Second, how hard would it be for them to not keep cash in the house?
Third, how hard would it be for them to not talk to the cops?
Fourthly, shouldn't have kept their doors unlocked
