nice post... at 26 u have a long road ahead of u... i?m 43 and started out on the trail uv?e laid out for us when i was 29... i can tell u what i did...

1) i have never associated myself with either major political party. i registered independent. but consider myself progressive... i vote whenever it is possible to vote because i feel 1 vote does count. don?t let anyone tell u otherwise... if we had selected our leaders wisely in the past maybe we wouldn?t be in the mess we?re in now... another world is possible...

2) the nature of education depends on the person and the field of study... try to learn something new everyday, through formal instruction, a book on ur own or practical life experience.. that being vauguely laid out i can tell u if i was asked to get a difficult job done i would put together a team of men and women with real life experience over education... any day of the week... i?ve found the majority of the engineers lack of field experience is a handicap to the entire process... "ego"

3) time can enslave us... taking things day by day is great if ur?e life will tolerate that free spirit approach

4) meeting people should be an extention of u living ur life... get out and become involved in things... people are attracted to positive people... don?t allow negative people to have too much influence on u... healthy relationships begin to form on their own...

5) saving was a good lesson for me.... compounding has amazing impact on savings accounts over time... consider joining an investment club... but be prepared to have to do ur fair share of research...

6) yoga is great... tai chi is probably great also...the breath we take is everything... excercise, eating well and drinking plenty of clean water are essential to physical and mental health... foods that come in a bag or a box are out as far as i?m concerned...

7)always moving forward has always worked for me...

8) i?ve never owned a condo... i have friends and family who have though... their experiences are mixed... some good, some terrible... ur better off buying a home of ur own... if u have family, maybe they could partner with u on ur first purchase...

9) we all do...

10) we all do... try not to get wrapped up in material things... that was a huge trap for me... keep it simple at all times... it will pay off in spades

11) thats part of life?s lessons... tied to education and ur ego

12) it?s better to be thin, flexible and healthy... but... if ur putting on 10 pounds it goes without saying it should be muscle mass rather then fat... excercise with weights or resistence training will grow muscle... get plenty of rest between workouts in the beginning...

i hope some of this helps... peace

you want to gain weight?
eat WAY more and lift heavy weights
3 solid hours in the gym per week and you'll see a marked improvement in strength, endurance, posture etc
you'll get bigger too

Let's hope I'm not all talk and I can actually do all of these things with a clear mind.

Yes. Very big point here. You can sit around and philosophize about how life should be, but if you never act, its all for nothing. And I just wanted to say that I am really digging my Aikido classes, although I'm sure Tai Chi would be fun too. With a martial art, you may get a little boost in confidence which is nice- you'll at least be able to defend yourself if you have to. Aikido also gives me a chance to express a very important part of my life philosophy.

Sounds like you've done a pretty good self-inventory there. Now you just need to make a realistic plan of how to start moving in the direction you've outlined. Talk is cheap. You've envisioned where you want to be, so exercise your will to make it come into being. I would suggest though that you narrow down your list to the three most important. When you accomplish them you will have the confidence to tackle the rest.
