Vap with an active carbon filter?

Would using an activated carbon filter in conjunction with a high end vaporizer do anything to further enhance the smoking experience? Even the best vaporizer under ideal conditions will produce a vapor containing some undesired compounds including polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Could the vapor be forced through an activated carbon filter to remove only these remaining impurities? Or would the sort of carbon filter needed to absorb the impurities also act to absorb the desirable compounds?
If this filtration were possible would the result be a reduction in smell and taste of the vapor? Or are the cannabinoids in the vapor entirely/mostly responsible for the taste/smell?

Well, if you take out the aromatic hydrocarbons you are going to be missing out on some of the sweet smell and I would guess taste.
It would probably work, but you will be diminishing the strong smell I would bet.

That's what I'm thinking.. Although I'm curious to know how much of the smell the THC is responsible for. Also what type of activated carbon could be used to absorb only the inactive ingredients?
Admittedly you would lose out on taste and smell but the plus side would be a more pure, healthier vapor. Also the reduction of smell by filtration would be useful when odors may otherwise cause unwanted attention of any nature.

The THC probably doesn't smell as much as the aromatic atoms if it has any noticeable aroma. I had no idea there was different kinds of activated carbon..
You would lose smell and taste, but it's already a vapor. If you were really this health sensitive for smoking pot you should be eating it. That or you could put the vape through a bong too. You DO still want to smoke that and get high, you don't want to filter everything out and be left with nothing.

THC is an aromatic terpenoid in case it follows the logical assumption that aromatics necessarily have a smell. I don't know enough chemistry to know how true that is. As for the exact purpose of the carbon filtration, there are certain times that I would find the removal of any smell to be a desirable effect. (I live in the US, need I say more?)

Hmm, well I guess THC would smell great!
this thread says that a gram of activated carbon has the surface area of a basketball court. That's a lot of space to soak up stuff, and I would assume that includes THC.
I'm sure these filters would smooth out the smoke, but maybe they do too much? From my reasoning using it on a vape would be kind of pointless, the amount of resin you get in a vape is so little anyway it's almost negligible. If you give it a try be sure to report back!

Well there are all different types of activated carbon that vary in porosity and shape so I'm just wondering if such a carbon compound exists that would filter out the inactive compounds while allowing the cannabinoids to pass through freely.
