Just wanna make sure this isn't a problem...
    #972099 -

I filled 8 jars with substrate a week ago. The plan is to sterilize them today then innoculate. It seems obvious if I'm going sterilize, but I wanted to be sure it wasn't a problem that they sat for a week. Thanks

After a week with no sterilization i am willing to bet that there is a lot of nasty stuff growing in there. I would start over, but if you have the spores to waste then go for it. I still think its a bad idea though.

Wouldn't sterillization kill all the nasty stuff in there anyway? isn't that the point? I know some people soak their grains to promote the germination of the endo-spores to make them easier to kill during the sterillization process.

it will kill all the "nasty stuff" but it won't get rid of all the toxins the nasty stuff may have left behind while it was alive.

I soak my grains for 24 hours but never for longer than 48 hours. Even after 48 hours i usually get very slow growth.
