HOW BIG!!!!!!!!

In the grow techs it says to harvest your shrooms right after the cap ruptures from the stalk. Is that the best time to pick them? In most of the pictures I have seen the caps have been fully open and it looks like they have been left to grow some more. Since you measure your dose in grams wouldn't it make since to let them grow to full size (bigger shroom more weight) or is the potency at it's peak when the veil tears.

Call me a sceptic. Do you have any scientific backing to prove this?

This seems to be just one of those things that people accept as fact that has never been proven.

Pick some shrooms before the veil tears, pick some right when the veil tears, then pick some a few days after the veil tears. Dose em and well see when the potency is the highest... This is called scientific research...

It's not at it's peak there..
While the mushroom is growing it's producing psilocybin and psilocin.. but at a certain age they stop, and it just grows mushroom flesh.
So.. little mushrooms that haven't opened up are good weight/active chemical ratio..
That's why aborts are so potent.

I would think that more of the mushrooms energy would go into the production of spores, which begins when the veil breaks, meaning that this is the best time to pick. As for pictures with wide open umbrella caps, i'd say either for show of size or they plan on making prints out of the caps.,,,,

Just as the veil is about to break, IMHO, is the time to harvest. That (again - IMHO) is when they are the most potent. 6T :tongue:
