Haalf-assed Jars Dead?

I made 8 pint jars, 4 mazas, 4 creepers. They're verm, composted cow crap thats been sitting in my garage and grass clippings. Tomorrow they'll be 2 weeks old, and havent germinated at all. The pastuerization was kind of half assed, and I didnt pack the jars down all the way (first try, my 2nd try rice jars are nicer, and I didnt make either of those mistakes)... Think they're dead? (as if they wont be sitting in my dresser no matter what you guys say : P)

if your saying you injected spores straight into a pasturized substrate, then yes, there "dead"

Well the inside of your jar is far from the wild of a cow pasture. If you look at a cow field 1 out of maybe 1000 cow patties have shrooms growing in them. You have 8 jars, so look at the odds and............., especially if the pasteurization was half assed (by the way, what method did you use to pasteurize). I filled a quart jar with cow poo once, and sterilized, ala boiling tek, then put a chunk of mycelium in there. Nothing ever happened. I think for germination, sterilzation is pretty much a necessity (not saying that spores wouldn't germinate without a sterilized substrate, just saying it would be alot more difficult.), but I could be wrong.
