Compost + Worm Castings Combo For Bulk Substrate?

Has anyone used compost and worm castings together as a bulk substrate before? I searched around and couldn't find any threads about it at all. It just seems like it would be a very good, albeit expensive, combination.

Maybe coir and worm castings would be a cheaper option...

That is a fine combination. The coir and casting is good too.

I've used them together before. Keep the worm castings to no more than about 20% of the substrate or it tends to get muddy. The more ingredients you mix in a substrate the better. If you have access to composted chicken manure, add it at up to 5% for a real boost. Add vermiculite at up to 50% after you mix everything else together.
