Cosmic Trigger (The Final Secret of the Illuminati) by Robert Anton Wilson
-------------------- To call humans 'rational beings' does injustice to the term, 'rational.' Humans are capable of rational thought, but it is not their essence. Humans are animals, beasts with complex brains. Humans, more often than not, utilize their cerebrum to rationalize what their primal instincts, their preconceived notions, and their emotional desires have presented as goals - humans are rationalizing beings.

i kinda breezed through that book to check it out...its a cool book and all...but, like i said i breezed through it and the picture i got from it was that this dude was a druggy in asia, got a crush on another dude and followed him around like an ass, then couldnt cut it in the buddhist monistary, so he came back to america and shit out a book to make money. but like i said, i missed mad shit in the book.

all "For Dummies" books are actually FOR DUMMIES. they are worthless. if two of your top three favorite books are in the "for dummies" series you should kill yourself.

That ones pretty cool to read tripping, but I gained a better understanding of what he says from Journey of Awakening. I got Be Here Now first and it was very exiting to read it just didn't explain things with the depth I needed to understand. Not that I have a clue now.....

for me, the book that started it all was - 14 lessons in yogi philosophy by yogi ramacharaka.
as a basic and concise introduction to the inner life, i think, its hard to beat.
i think this thread should be in spit and feelo.
