Inucbation Humidity too High?
    #967857 - 10/17/02 12:35 AM (21 years, 5 months ago)

I bought a water heater today and put it in a sealed rubbermaid container with my freshly innoculated jars. The temperature is currently hovering around 83 degrees which is good, but I noticed a lot of condensation building on the top of the foil and on the sides of the bin. I fanned it and cracked the cover open, but did I mess this up, or should I just keep it vented from now on...but there will be some light exposure (indirect) during the day.

I think that this is rather normal, and high humidity is optimal for incubation. You might have to drain the water every other day or so...

Think about it Water Heater + water in sealed container = humidity.  This is normal.  Just drain if it's puddling in the bottom.

Also in the Incubation stage there should be no light !  Put the thing in a dark cupboard or something.  The light is only required for pinning/fruiting.
