I have used a blue peice of elwire. The 5 mm one with a non-adjustable inverter. It seems to be working ok. I am wanting light my freezer eventually. Thats why I got it. Its flexible without heat, and I know that it works. I just want to go the best way possible since I have spent so much time on the freezer already. More info is requested. I will need to consult my greenhouse lighting manuals as well.

The white EL wire might be a better bet!

what do you do for lighting when you have a lot of levels of mushrooms. Like in small greenhouses, large freezers, or larger plastic greenhouses where you use shelves? A light attached to the bottom of each level. what lights are safe for this?

bump - I always see a freezer full of trays with one light at the top. I have used single lights with reflective white plastic and I got really inconsistent results.

You could use a white cold cathode light that is used in PCs and use a PC powersupply.

yeah that would be cool. if you have a light meter, you might measure the lumen count coming off of them. I have some blue 5mm and am going to do the same. I think mine are the ultra-bright or whatever. I guess some are not as bright as others

Part of the key is the color spectrum and white is better than blue according to RR!

The white EL wire seems to have those right characteristics, but will see later when they are used for pinning.

These are the LED litghts I used for my grows. They work great, and last a long time.

I'm using the exact same lights, the stick n clicks right? I got a whole box of them from radioshack where i work since we had a huge overstock and had nowhere to put them and they were out of the system. Do they work well?

Is what I use. They used to sell a 10ft one for very very cheap. I guess they don't anymore =/

EDIT - I still think natural sunlight beats the piss out of anything else.
