welp it's been rainin like a mofo up here in New England, and this is today's find..
i found these in a 20-25 foot wide, 1-4 foot high horse manuer/hay compost down the street.. there were tons of different species in there, some of them i grabbed, some i didn't, some i left to mature.. (there were also white capped species in there but i believe they were Panaeolus antillarum..
i'm taking a spore print as i'm writing this, and it seems to be coming out black/jet black.. but to make sure i'll take the biggest cap and do a long print and post it when im done..
well here they are.. (just incase u have trouble with the size difference, the smallest one on the bottom is an exact metric inch)

any suggestions/comments are appreciated.. thanks again! keep shrooming!

Are the gills attached or not?
Almost looks like gian pans, but I dout that :/
I have no idea, and I have to go to work so sorry I cant help.
Maybe write some more descriptions ....
Make it easier for people to ID. Specifiy any observation that you can make, its hard to tell in pictures sometimes. Like, cap, stem, gills, the feeling of the shroom, smells, bruising, exact size, and whatnot.

well they smell like p cubs to me with a scent of market mushroom in there somewhere =/
gills we're attached, caps are tan/dark tan (some have rings and dark staining spots on them they look like dark blue/purple/blue)
stem is tan/white/brown after 3 hours of picking there still pretty wet/slippery.. the biggest cap is about 2-3 inches wide and the gills are black/brown and on some they are dark brown.. but all of them have black spores (especially the big caps and the darker capped ones, a jet black)
thanks again.. please comment PLEASE!

hey nim, dont you think they are pans? and if they are, dont you think they are one of just a few species? not toooooo many options. i cant tell for sure, cuz i havent had the oppurtunity to deal with many pans (i usually consider them a little too difficult, a little too infrequent, and if active...not so much) but this is certain. you should know if they are pans. you have tons of posts like this. im sorry i dont know pans well enough to help. if they were active pans, you'd probably know, too, cuz you've been coming here long enough. i might guess antillarium, but i might have a lot of keying to do. try this: http://www.grzyby.pl/gatunki/Panaeolus.htm
good luck!

Im just going to guess on this one...
But, Im thinking its a Panaeolus solidpes. Now, the stem has to be solid for this to be true, and I can't really make it out from the pics.
Its the only solid and thick stemmed Panaeolus.
