I was going thru some old photos and made a cool discovery.Found this in June of 2007.I didn't know what species it was at the time,unfortunately.

Cool. Is there a synonym or a common name for that one? The reason I ask is because I can't find it in any of my books.

Not that I know of.There are other varieties of Pluteus salicinus I know.

Bobzimmer,no didn't print it.I'm going to start printing and saving collections this year.Getting a scope soon.:grin:

what are the main differences between this species and P. cervinus?

Ive read hongos post about them before but i like to hear as many opinions about these as possible, i have always wanted to find them.

Isn't that funny, Danny?  Finding cool mushrooms months after you picked them by going through the pics?  I am going over mine right now plus other things being filed away.  I really enjoy it.

Well,they're much smaller.They bruise blue.Seem to like a riparian habitat,amoungst areas polluted with Pluteus cervinus and Platterful mushrooms.They got a bumpy little bump in the middle of the cap top.

I know right where the spot is, so I'll be studying them for sure this season.

MM,that's what I like to do in the off season,figure out what I couldn't figure out.It was a pleasant surprise figuring out these pics.
