USB linux
    #9650249 - 01/21/09 05:54 AM (13 years, 3 months ago)

I've tried ubuntu and puppy linux on usb, both suck balls. Neither of them really have good support. The puppy linux forums at puppylinux.org refused to respond to my emails or allow me to log in after I registered. I'm starting to think linux is just a sick joke.

Anyone know of a better distribution that would be fast and small and work well on a flash drive?

Linux is far form being a joke
you will never have any Idea of what linux realy is until you stop fooling around with toy distros
and install it on a computer
even a 10year old junk shop computer will work better than a new computer with a toy distro

Thanks ohmatic.

arainbow,
Yeah, I did install it, and I know it's a bit faster than windows even installed on a flash drive, but these "toy" distros like DSL, puppy and ubuntu are just that, toy distros. They suck balls. I already mentioned several reasons they suck balls but I could go on and on about it.

if u insist on trying it w/ flash drives, use unetbootin to make the drive.

Linux on USB is difficult to have support for. You don't save updated files etc...You need to install it to your computer first to learn how the file system works to configure it for USB.

Try SLAX. It's base off slackware but much smaller. I use it.
