If you want some really good music that will take your mind on a journey... put you in a trance... or just mellow you to a peaceful world, i reccomend classical. Now dont get me wrong, its not somthing i enjoy sober, but when im tripping its amazing. Pick some long symphonys by betoheven or motzart. Its the most relaxing peaceful thing youll ever experiance. I also enjoy pure trance music. techno that sort of thing.

try some:? Autechre - Autumn Acid (aphex twin remix) ? Autechre - Eggshell ? Autechre - Lowride ? Autechre - Vletrmx (Plaid Mix) ? The Pulse album by Pink Floyd (a live album with mostly DSOM songs, but it?s the best!! )
i promise you the above suggestions would go great for any trip.

Amen on the classical, 7up. Beethoven, Schubert, etc. cant be beat in my book. Might also try the albums ricochet and the soundtrack to the film Sorcerer by Tangerine Dream. They will definately take you on a journey with various beats and tempo changes. Quite cool! peace

Classical music is VERY underrated when it comes to shroom tripping.
I suggest you give it a try. Just get some Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Hans, you'll be set.

since i listen to only electronic music here are my recomendations:
-anything goa(as in goa trance) aka psychedelic trance, there is a reason they named it after that,im told the wcilating repetitive sounds make for fun -downtempo and ambient for a chill out time- boards of canada and saru, almost anythign from either of those 2 will make you happy - i personally like the harder rougher stuff like technical itch, diesel boy andstakka and skynet, shimon, this music is fast and hard, fine if you are in a good mood and want to dance your brains out, but not an all around shroom friendly music - jungle is also fun, firemen, ionz49 -breaks are a nice uptempoish chill out mucsic suitable for a nice sit down or walking time, uberzone, adam freeland, dillinja, maciva, and omar santana, and plump dj's -i personally dont listen to much trance but im told its good, check out the music on any of the slinky cd's, my personal recomendation is the concept in dance 2-tribal trance cd, i quite like it, im sure you will too -anything tribal seems to be good, i guess the whole communal tribal thing at work here, you will find that the music has hand drums in it instead of an electronically generated generic drum kit, few producers produce soley tribal music and tribal music is found in almost every major genre of electronic musicso you have to dig down a little bit, as mentioned above, the concept in dance 2 cd is fairly good -there are many different styles of electronic music out there and it is hard to distingush many of them, for instance the difference between darkstep, hardstep, and techstep(all genres of jungle which is a genre of drum and bass) is very small, and indistingushable for novice listeners, producers also create songs from many different genres so you cant just go by an artist -electronic music is good and bad, it is very good becuase there are so many different speeds, genres and tempos that you can find a song to exactly match the mood you want, the repetitive beats entrance you and furthur propel you into an altered state, your soul interacts with the pounding beat and it controls you, it can pull you right out of a bad trip and change trips from just a high into full blown visuals, it is a very powerful tool, however, you must vbe sure that you have a variaty of music available, so you have something that suits the mood you are in or the mood you with to be in, in this way it is an annoyance as there is much preparation involved, yet the benefits greatly outweigh the benefits reaped from using electronic music -something to note, while under the influence of psychedelic substances you probably want to stay away from anything 'dark', this type of electronic music is spooky, with sirens, heavy progressing basslines and such, it gives a feeling of evil and or wrongdoing, you often dont hear it played at raves for this reason, many ravers describe thismusic as pure evil, saying that it eats ravers for breakfast, so i would refrain from it, so go out, listen to some of it, see the difference it can make for you

Anything by simon posford is great, meaning the following artist names: Shpongle (has 2 albums, the 1st is his overal best work, the second is more of a genre blend fun style) Hallucinogen - The lone deranger is his best album. Twisted is good too.
David Parsons (older and slightly cheesy, but hey the most profound moments sometimes deserve it). His best and completely not cheesy album is "Parikrama" a 2 cd set. Parikrama is the name of the holy journey to Mt. Kailas made by hindus. He isn't hindu, but he studies tons of world religions and this is the 2cd set he made about the journey. VERY meditative, slow.
Alio die - kinda dark and depressing, not much progression but is interesting
Robert rich, steve roach - not very impressive creatively but both have ample albums released, mostly ambient, but they use high quality delays and reverbs and slow builds. I could make many of their albums real time but they made them so hey, it's less work
Zoviet France - loopy but trippy
Tabla Beat Science - Zakir Hussain, world renown tabla master teams up with a sarod player, DJ disk, and talvin singh. Zakir is the star and talvin does crap electronic stuff but it's fucking great because of the tabla.
I have loads and loads of psychedelic ambient stuff but some of it is quite experimental and I don't know if many would enjoy.
I also have some psychedelic experimental music I made myself - will post an mp3 link if anyone is interested. It is VERY mind bending and may make you throw up on a psychedelic. haha

I know you said, no bands, but if you haven't listened to Tool before, get laterallis. Just do it, and trip to it. It has a good mix of music and singing and gives center stage to both in a good balance. It will blow your mind.

Hi,
That's the link to my latest mixdown. This is more of a "will make you throw up on psychedelics" song. I have done all the intense parts but I need to add some ambient fills, as it needs rises and falls.
