Free NYC Poo

If u live in the inner city, and see more RX7's w/ the blinding hollogen lights than farms, u might B in the same situation as I was. Looking for Horse Poo and comming up dry. I just hit up NYC to collect some poo (after seeing what anything BUT does) from the horse drawn carrages. The drivers were more than happy to take as much as I wanted, so I was pleased.
They also informed me that, I could take as much as I want from the stable garbage cans. There are 4 giant cans per stable w/ wheels on the bottom.
They are located : Between 10th & 11th on 38th st. Between 10th & 11th on 48th st. Between 10th & 11th on 52ed st.
Just go and get some free poo on them.
And to the person who goes and tells them anything but "an online compost service, I started myself and it rolls in the $$$", go to hell. Dont ruin it for the rest of us. I am only shareing the info due to I know how it feels to use inferior product from Walmart.

cool man thanks for the info. incidently there was a recent thread in hunting from someone in nyc who found pan subbs growing on a straw bale in a nyc park. he insinuated it was near a stable.

Sorry to bring back the dead, but this might be helpful. I just picked up manure from a place on 48th st between 11th and 12th ave, not 10th and 11th. I assume the other two spots are also between 11th and 12th. It was great, they didn't ask any questions and they helped me shovel it into a bag. No shortage of manure in manhattan!

I was wondering. Although the poo is very fresh, I assume it doesn't need to be dried out. The poo falls directly from the ass of the horse into a catcher on the back of the carriage, so I don't think it ever has a chance to get pissed on. Am i wrong?

NYC also has a mounted police dept., so I'd bet you can pick it up wherever they stable the horses. RR

It has to be totally dried and aged. Lay it out in the sun for at least a month. When it's cracker dry and no smell, it's ready to pasteurize and use. RR

Also, for Philly folks, Fairmount Park has a recycling center that gives away free compost, manure, and firewood. The manure there is ace stuff. I went today for more. The manure is a compilation of horse dung from the trails and herbivore manure from the zoo. It's in a large pile near the entrance. The first time I went to this place back in the fall, lots of large, brown mushrooms were growing from the base of the pile.
Anyway, today I put a shovel right into the pile, and below the surface it was absolutely steaming with white specs dispersed throughout. Such good stuff.
