Ive tried to use recycled bags but Im running out.
Can anyone point me to where to buy some? What mil can I get away with?
Also, do garbage bags work or are they too thin-skinned for wheat straw?

What you want are 2 mil gusseted bags. For straw you don't need them with a filter patch cause you are just gonna poke holes in it anyway. I just did a google search and www.polybagsupplies.com seems like a fairly good place to get them. The sell um for $73.72 for 500. As for size, I would get some that best fit your needs. If you've been growing on straw for a while you know that it compresses quite a bit, so pick something that will be a good size for you. I'd probably go for something around the 12"W x 8"L x 24"H range. I wouldn't use garbage bags for straw... too thin, too weak especially once you get it all hydrated.

For regular bags that do not need to be sterilized I use Uline.com.

just today i've found some bags that i imagine are ok for our use.
here in italy the houses and everything is made by cement (and yes it's a stupid thing). When you need to change a pipe or similar you have to smash the walls and so on (because the architets here are so genius to insert the pipes into the cement and not info a fake floor..)..so when you smash everything you've to put the cement debris into the plastic bags. here are sold some particular plastic bags, very thick and semitrasparent that cost about 0,25€ eachone. 1/4 of the unicorn bags, and 3 or 4 times bigger in sizes. I don't know if where you like these bags are sold, but you should try. i bet they're in polypropylene and works with the pressure cooker, or at least in a barrel with a gas burner.
