Canada has a lot of good points, pls don't misinterpret me as putting down the land of my birth but........just 2 weeks ago i was sitting there is some bar in Bucharest watching this girl crying just cauz i said: "Yes, you WILL be confronted by streetpeople in Toronto asking for money".........no place is perfect, i'm sure from where a alot of you folks in the states are looking(especially right now) canada may very well seem like the land of milk and honey, my only point is that we have our problems too.....on the more positive note, it seems to me that it's mainly the coolest Americans that are seriously thinking of coming up here to live.........i personally welcome you all with open arms

That's kind of guy I and everyone else *would* suspect. I'm just saying, it would be a convenient / politically useful coincidence if he was some kind of Al-Quaeda affilate working for the Iraqis...

Ok I'm way late to be jumping into the thread with this, but you caught me, I'm a serial killer.

They showed a suspected vehicle and its pretty much a moving van. Does this suggest he's got a partner? I have my doubts there are 2 complete pyschos doing this shit.

I'm sorry to hear that you live so close Shroomerism... I was just in DC this morning. One point I'd like to make is the whole white van thing may be bunk. It's a possibility that the sniper(s) are just waiting for a white van to drive by before they fire. A white van drives by any given place near a highway every few minutes. It would not be hard to decoy...Or the sniper's partner (if he has one) may be acting as a decoy - then going through the police checkpoints as well as the real sniper who is in a red car. Or green. Whatever.

Any serial killer with half a brain would not be driving a white van around especially since that's all they are focusing on in the news. "Police are pulling over every white van they come across" This guy is obviously not stupid, he's probably driving a red mustang. Not to mention that white vans make up about 40% of the vehicles on the road in this area.. this guy is probably laughing at their investigation.

Gabba he may have had sniper training and he may have not. With a good rifle and moderate skills it's not that hard to shoot a target from 300 meters. (assuming that this is the max distance he shot from?) It is amazing to read all this misinformation on this message board. People, if you're speculating, say so. Don't pretend it's fact. FACTS: 2 injuries, 1 shot thru window, 9 kills. 4 at gas stations, some near highways. Most recent one today; after a break on the weekend. Today's killing happened at a home depot in VA. That's virginia, about 10 miles from D.C.

I agree, Shroomism. Either the van is a decoy or he's abandoned his van. This man or these men is/are very smart. While they've made mistakes, they are good at what they do. More important than the accuracy of the shooter is the success he/she/they have had in escaping from the police. It takes a lot of skill to do that. I recently heard an interview about past serial killers and how they were caught - it was all stupid things. For instance, Son of Sam was caught for a $50 parking ticket. The Unabomber was caught when his brother recognised his handwriting in the NY Times when he published his Manifesto. The man who bombed the WTC with explosives in a rental truck in 1996? was nabbed when he tried to collect his $400 security deposit on the truck not once but TWICE!!!!!! Etc. etc. if anyone can remember the other ones plz point out. So my point is, if this guy is this good, the cops aren't going to catch him until he makes a stupid mistake.

How do you know it was a miss? Wasnt the shot through the window the verry first shot recorded? Maybe he ment to shoot the window?
And anyone who can possibly believe that this guy is not HIGHLY skilled with his gun is kidding themselvs. This guy may not have been trained by professionals but I guarantee that he has practiced for years and has shot thousands and thousands of rounds...
Besides, his ability to kill from long distances with one shot time after time qualifys him as a professional marksman under any standards.

Sorry, I thought I made it clear that I was speculating...My bad I just got things mixed up. You're right. I'll edit. In reply to:

300 yards isn't that far. (is this how far it was usually? or was it a greater distance?)
