When do i harvest??

Im growing psilocybin c. and I would like to know if I should wait till the little ring thingy gets around the stalk, or should I pick them right as the cap starts to open

Its basically personal preference when to harvest - READ THE FAQ - But your supposed to harvest when the veil breaks meaning the cap forms and opens however its preference like i said some like to harvest before the veil is broke..

When I harvested my first shroom I saw that some parts on the stems ere green is this a sign of contamination and if so can I still cracker dry them and eat them?

Pick them when you think they are good to go...wait, let me expand on this.
Go to FAQ and read about harvesting like Addict said.

Personaly I like to pick them just before the veil breaks.

That sounds like contamination, I wouldnt eat them. Some green molds are very harmful to humans.

the green could be harmful or it could just be the blue green color of the mushroom until you learn enough to tell the difference best to be safe!
