Hi Im am new here and to growing. I perpared the jars as the pF tEK reads. i filled the jars and cleaned them up and screwed on the lids and taped the holes off. I set up the preasure cooker and ahd to leave for work.I asked my brother to finish, and clean up. HE said yaeh so i left. he let the pc. cook for 40+ min. next morning I broke out the spores and went to town on my jars. That was 6 days ago i checked the jars this morn and they are bone dry. Is there so way to ree wet the jars to save the spores plus the brown rice flour. or just start over?

perhaps i am stoned a bit, but i cant figure out how you are sure the problem is over-cooking. i mean 40 minutes are NOT much, i must say.
so the problem is that there is no myc after six days of incubation??
i am puzzled too !!!

Bone dry , sounds like you got water / dry mix wrong . 40 min is not overcooking . Say sorry to bro and start again . Was there still water in pc when you opened it up ?

I wouldn't throw the jars out. Wait for another week. Then if still no growth inject some distilled water into the needle holes. If you don't see growth within another week then think about starting over.

as of right now they are 100% dry mix with spores. i dont think I can just ad water the dry mix would have to be mix agine and then resteralized, in witch this would kill the spore. but what if i use the dry mix agine and use new spores?

Vermiculite holds water for a long time. Are you sure you got the mixture right? as everyone else said, 40 minutes is a reasonable time, they shouldn't be overcooked.
