not even suspected of being active.
the superficial resemblance to "cubies" is a matter of them being MUSHROOMS.
otherwise, within the concept of MUSHROOMS, they dont look like cubensis AT ALL.
cubensis doesnt even grow anywhere near you, except in peoples houses.
those look like honeys to me.
armillaria mellea.
tell us the spore color.
did they share stems, were theyclustered?
p.s.
try not to hint that you are only interested in knowing whether they are active or not, especially in your subject.
nobody wants to take RANDOM mushrooms you find and tell you whether they are ACTIVE or not.
i mean, we will, but it would probably help if you came with something that actually might be.  (read:  do some research before ackin a fool)
peace

Interesting find, but, non-active. Im a little lazy to look up what kind those are but they look familiar.

Do they have a viel? I cant tell from the pictures.  A few of the open-capped ones in the blurry pics to kinda-sorta resemble cubensis  100% sure you're not going to find any up there. They have to grow off of dung too remember

viscid's guess of Armillaria mellea (Honey Mushrooms) looks reasonable. You will need to verify the spore print color. Also check to see if there are short, erect "hairs" at the middle of each cap. They should have been growing from wood (which might be buried).

Honey Mushrooms are edible but cause more illnesses than any other edible mushroom. If you choose to eat them, be sure they are thoroughly cooked, and save a few raw in the refrigerator in a brown paper bag so that if you get sick you can give them the specimens.

Happy mushrooming!

<------was just wondering how you came to own the threads....

and was also wondering how identifying your mushroom was a negative vibe or hostile in any way.
relax.
theyre just words.
dont forget that i posted solely to tell you what mushroom you found, and you responded by telling me to fuck off.
if you would like to continue the swapping of harassing and otherwise useless words, PLEASE lets do it privately.
the forums are mucked up enough with stupidity.
(read back over this whole thread and see what i mean)
i will cease posting in trhis thread now.
peace

:smirk:
Theres no need to be an ass just because he is a newb to mushroom identification.  Not all of us have access to a field guide.  Granted, he could probably find the ID by searching for about an hour in this forum, but wouldn't it just be easier to rely on possible advice from HELPFUL fellow shroomerites?  If it annoys you so bad then don't bother replying...simple enough eh?

Alright, this is turning into a flame war. It's getting locked.

Viscid, you are right, they look nothing like cubes.

PhishCube: Viscid's statment did not warrent your lashing out. Viscid is not a troll, he is a repectable member who knows his mushrooms. He was obviously not serious when he said you were "ackin' a fool." He was telling the god honest truth and you freaked out. Calm down and get over it.
