Cakes upside down or right side up?
    #959420 -

Some teks say that you must birth the cake so that it is sitting in the same orientation as it was in the jar. Some teks don't mention which side of the cake to birth it on. doesn't it matter and if so which way is better? thanks

You will get results either way. If you want my opinion, birth it vermiculate side up. Ocasionally mist the verm layer, if it looks dry. YOu should get a nice sized flush form that.

I don't think it matters much. I've done it both ways with similar results.

my friend always fruits them with verm side down. he noticed that the shrooms would always grow from where the verm was. he recently experienced problems with the cakes fruiting at all. he sprinkled a thin layer of verm on the top of the cakes and moistened the layer with sterile water every 2 days. now there are shrooms abundant popping out of the top.

I usually let my jars icubate with the lid side down, and birth them the same. I don't know why I do it, I just do
The pins always pop up in different places no matter how I orient the cakes
