 rye berry bag questions

im about to inoculate a 3lb rye berry bag from sporeworks.
ive prepared 3 100 ml lcs with honey and and inoculated them with huatla.
im just wondering how many ccs of lc should i inject the bag with for optimal colonization?

You wouldn't need anymore than 20-30cc of liquid culture. To be honest, grains colonize much faster than bulk substrates, so I wouldn't personally use any more than 20cc. A lot depends on how much LC you want to use and how fast you want them to colonize. 20-30cc would get you colonized in about 3 weeks, all other conditions being optimal and mixing occurring at the 20-30% colonization stage.

Definitely don't squirt everything in the same spot. I think the 30cc amount is good for a 3 lb, and what I'd personally do is stick the needle in, and literally inject 3cc in 10 different spots, while just moving the needle around inside the bag [never taking it out between injections]
On my 1 lb bags I did something similar w/ 4 inoc. points - the left/right of the front, and then I squirted spores in the left/rear of the back. I got quick even colonization w/ this AND it was multispore.
For 6 more spots, just get creative and spread it out - it's gonna help. Do the bottom corners of the front, do a little right in the middle, and on the top just lightly press the needle and try and coat as much of the surface as you can, just spraying it like a hose almost.

depending on how wet the bags are now I'd go for 5-15mL and then just mix it all up. You'll see a lot of spread out growth in just 3 or 4 days most likely.

Yeah I agree wouldn't innocing in one spot and then shaking the bag be the easiest and most time efficient manner?

Since he's using LC shaking would be OK since it's already germinated, but for MS no, cuz you want your spores close together. I'd still move the needle around inside the bag and inject in all different spots. It's extremely simple, and it's gonna ensure even colonization. Plus why would you wanna shoot everything in 1 spot? No matter how good you shake, that spot could still be wetter than the rest of the bag, posing a possible problem.
He can also go over 5-15cc cuz his bag is 3 lb. People have used 120cc in 5lb bags w/ great results. I'd say 30cc total would be a solid safe amount.

how long do these bags take i nocced it up over a week ago with 24 ccs of lc stil no myc growth.
does this happen often?

If I where you, I wouldn't go injecting the first lc I'd ever made into your only bag, I would of just used the syringe.

well thw 17 jars ive nocced up since with the same lc all showed myc growth in less than 24 hours so it definitely wasn't the lc
these bags suck
plain and simple
they dont keep the right moisture content at all...
im stick jars and organic flour

J3illy, the people that inject their bags with that much lc are the people that make their own bags and account for this extra moisture when making the substrate
