I like my gf, but I miss being single...

Dilemma:

I've been dating my gf for 8 months now, and other than a few instances, she's been a good girlfriend and nice to have around.

Next week will mark the beginning of my last semester as an undergrad in college. This has been causing me a bit of stress thinking about life after college, moving back home and away from new york city, facing the real world, and overall how lame life can potentially be.

My current gf is my first serious relationship, she's cute and I like her, and if I was graduated and bored I don't think I would have as much of a question about keeping her around, but...

College is almost over. This established social network and liberal attitude towards sex will be gone. Not that I really took full advantage of it before and not really wanting to be a manwhore, but I would like to flirt, make out, and connect mentally with more girls and get a better idea of what is out there.

I'm generally a reserved person, but I feel like I've been getting over my social anxieties, and want to get to know more girls before I choose just one, but I have no reason other than I want to screw around to break up with my current girlfriend.

Also after I graduate I will be moving back home which is about 3 hours away from her home. We've discussed it briefly, but I usually just avoid the conversation (especially when she was trying to have it 4 months into the relationship and 10 months away).

That was a lot of self pondering, but hopefully it will give you a grasp of the situation.

Any thoughts/feedback?

If you have to break her heart, break it. You can't avoid it. Do what you want to do in life, man. Don't let hurting people hold you back. Hurt is inevitable in life. People heal. The best thing you can do is be calm about the breakup with her and be completely honest. Oh, and since she has been a good girlfriend, be polite about the breakup. If she was anything other than a good girlfriend, I'd say wrench her heart out. :wink:

Follow your dreams man. Go for that "College Experience" if its what your after. If you really dont see yourself with your girlfriend later down the road, doesn't make much sense to stay with her :2cents:
