elloooo
quick question has anyone had any experience with using distilled water for the 240ml of water in mixing with the brown rice and verm.
would the out come be better? or is it better to just use tap water.
just got a new distiller at home so am thinking if I should use distilled water as opposed to tap or bottle.
cheers

If you have a distiller, use it. If not, just use tap water. That's really all I can say. The mushrooms don't really care, unless there is a crapload of chemicals in your tap water. Then I'd go for buying spring water or distilled water. However, for making spore syringes and LC it's best to use distilled (and of course sterilized) water.

Quite a few people use distilled water, although it is not necessary. Either way you are going to get the same results. Since you have a distiller, you might as well use it.

I use water straight from the tap and have never had a problem.
If you have city water you should be fine.

Distilled water is basicaly h20 and nothing else. Any impurities removed.
Distilled water is great for spore syringes. For hydrating substrates, stay with tap water or if your tap water isnt great, spring water. There are benificial minerals in the water.,

Distilled water is suitable for master culture slants and/or petri dishes that remain sealed.
Don't use it for growing. It's as bad for your mushroom growing projects as it is for you to drink. The minerals in tap or spring water are beneficial. RR
On using distilled water for spore syringes. The last time i made a syringe, i used tap water and after a week, spores started to germinate. I started a poll and it seemed that people using tap water had there syringes germinate compared to almost none from using distilled

thanks for input from all.
this is what I was worried about....distilled water has nothing in it. all minerals removed, wondered if mushrooms need the minerals.
