anybody know how much water to use in a cooker? it's a 22 quart size cooker but how much water do i need??

Moved to Mushroom Cultivation.
It varies on your PC brand, RTFM, but the minimum is usually around 1/2 a cup to 1 cup. just fill to about 1.5 cm above the tray insert. If you run it with no water you risk problems..and if you use too little and too much escapes, same deal.

According to the instructions for Mirro 22qt. pc, use 2 quarts of water for all canning jobs. Add 1 extra pint of water if processing at less then full capacity.

I use 1 inch of water.
