Ate some liberty caps - now im gonna die

i ate liberty caps two days ago, since then i have had a fever and chills. is that a sign of my organ's giving up?

Did you trip? And if you did, and they all looked the same. And they were actually liberty caps you should be ok. But if they werent liberty caps..

yeah i had a sweet trip, only did about 25small of them so it was quite mellow. But awesome non the less. But i feel really bad now. All achy, its really irratating with cloths rubbing against me when i move, Im super cold and hot and the same time, just over all feel tired and no good.

I mean, eating mushrooms have toxins in them for you to trip, right?

Doing mushrooms isn't the best thing for your body, there are side effects for sure...like lowering your immune system. Ive read and seen this happen.

It could have been that you just got sick afterwards, or something. If you tripped, you are fine. Are you sure all the shrooms looked the same, and well, tasted the same?

How long after you ate the mushrooms did you notice the unpleasant symptoms (roughly)?

What are all the symptoms you are noticing?

Even if there was a Galerina (or other dangerous mushroom) in with what you ate it is unlikely that you will die. If you will answer the questions above I can tell you if you need to see a doctor for mushroom poisoning. Your symptoms (as described so far) are not typical of mushroom poisonings. The only one that's vaguely similar is coprine poisoning which requires a dosage of alcohol as well, but you haven't described the symptoms typical of that either.

it was the day after i started noticing the chilly achy symtoms.

Achy
Hot cold feeling
tired
head aches mostly all day

this is the 2nd day these symptoms have been going on.

Ill write back here tommorow, and see if anything gets better.

You didn't specify hours, but anything over 4 hours would be the really dangerous poisonings.

But your symptoms are not those of mushroom poisoning for any of these types. There are 3 types of poisoning which take longer than 4 hours:

1. Gyromitrin, from eating False Morels. They don't even remotely resemble psychedelic mushrooms, so this can be ruled out. The symptoms would be vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, fatigue, and headache.

2. Amatoxins, from eating Amanitas, Galerinas, Lepiotas, or Conocybes. These would be the most likely of the three. The symptoms would be vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain (your liver would become sensitive - try pressing there).

3. Orellanine, from Cortinarius species. Unlikely, but very remotely possible. The symptoms are typically vomiting, diarrhea, and loss of appetite, followed by frequent urination and an intense, burning thirst (indicating kidney problems).

The only other mushroom poisoning which has a delayed onset is Coprine poisoning. Within 15 minutes of drinking alcohol the symptoms are headache, facial flushing, rapid heartbeat (>100), nausea, and vomiting. This can occur for up to 3 days after eating the mushrooms (almost always Coprinus species).


You don't sound like you have any of those. Food poisoning is always a possibility, but your symptoms don't really sound like that either. Obviously, if you become very ill you should see a doctor, whether mushrooms are involved or not. But it sounds like you just happened to come down with something like flu.

Hopefully this will ease your mind somewhat. Use the regular flu remedies and let your immune system do its thing.

keep in mind the possibility of infection you can get from eating things that grow on the ground surrounded by dung. my ex once got a nasty kidney infection we concluded might have resulted from eating semies. it took a week and a half for her to get sick though. don't panic, like TM said, you're not likely to die but definately see a doctor if you keep feeling worse. i have a friend who got muscarine poisoning and it wasn't pleasant but it had no long-term effects.

All I gotta say is that after looking over your recent posts, you were told by many people in the forums that the mushrooms you had picked were, in fact, NOT liberty caps... Perhaps you disregarded the good advice of experienced cultivators? Either way, good luck, hope you don't die buddy, wouldn't be cool at all.

I've definetly got a fever after mushroom tripping, and that's what it sounds like you got. I woke up the day after and felt really ill and just lay in bed all day.

Hey guys!  Im still here...ITs the morning of the 3rd day, and so far i feel almost back to normal.  Hopefully the symptoms dont creep up on me later today. 

The mushrooms i did eat were libs..I did post some earlier that were not and i did in fact throw those ones away back into the grass.  perhaps one of the mushrooms had some bacteria on it or what not that my body didnt like.

I know exactly what you mean about feeling cloths rubbing against you it's the most irrating feeling and salvia trips seem to be the cause of it right after I trip.
