ive been reading a bunch of reviews and it seems like the mossberg 500, remington 870 and benelli supernova are the best bang for you pump action buck these days.... i can get a barrel combo with the 500 and 870 for the same price as a supernova but i have no idea which one to choose
what shotty do you own? what should i get?

what are you looking for, home protection or hunting?
i have a charles daly field tactical AW, which is a remington 870 copy. its cheaper and has functioned superbly for me for a couple years now. not a single issue with it.
my next shotgun is going to be a saiga.

The Mossberg 590 passed military testing.
The 500 is practically the same just a few plastic components and no heat shield.
I like the Mossberg 500A Persuader 7+1, the 590 is 8+1. Get some Sellieler & Bellot 12 Pellet 00 Buck, a few slugs, and you're good to go.
I would go Mossberg because guys from Vietnam were telling me how the elevator mechanism in Remingtons can cause shotshells to jam (rarely). I think the jam came more with inexperience, but I still say Mossberg owns.
If you want a Semi-Auto, Winchester X shotties own, or Benelis. Regards.

I have an 870 Express. Cost me $230 a year ago. I can outshoot most of the custom single barrel jobs at the trap range with it. It isn't fancy, but it is reliable as shit and shoots very well. Mine came stock with magnum chambers and a removable choke. Between that and my Bersa, best money I ever spent.

I just took a look at the Benelli website. The intro page really make that look like a classy fucking shotgun.
I wonder who exactly their target audience is and if that ad works on them...

I take it you dont want to spend more than a few hundred.
For home defense go as cheap as possible (mossberg 500/Remington 870) you can get an 18" barrel for around $60, or you can just saw off the barrel if you wanna be a redneck. I've got a mossberg 500 that is a piece of shit and I put a short barrel on it and it works like a charm.
My hunting shotgun is a Beretta 682, over-under 12ga. I fucking love it and having had it for a while now I would never go back to a shitty mossberg which is what I used to shoot.
Better yet, if you want a home defense weapon just buy an $100 double-barreled piece of crap from a gun show and cut it off to like 10", just don't get caught with it.

Im not sure what u mean by SBS other than short barreled-shotgun, but it's 18.5'', anything below that and you have to pay a $200 tax stamp (in texas). Im pretty sure if i shot a home invader with it they would do a back flip and die in comical fashion.

Yeah, to SBS means "to fill out the paperwork and pay the tax required to build a short-barreled shotgun". I assumed by short barrel you really meant short.
Interestingly, if the shotgun has a smooth bore, and has never had a stock mounted on it, the tax is only $5...
