drying properly?

first off is it ok to dry in a dessicant chamber without fan drying first? because i cant seem to get them "cracker" dry. they always end up kinda soft, but dry. is that right? or are they supposed to be completly brittle dry?

Fan dry 'em first. They'll be rotten before they get cracker if you just dessicate them.

Throw togather any kind of chamber you can direct wind through with a fan & fan dry then first. Or, you will edge up with moldy shrooms. Even a cardboard box.

I use a 5 gallon plastic bucket w/lid & screens inside. Small holes drilled around the bottom edge of the bucket & a squirrel cage fan attatched to the lid. They get brittle dry in about 12 -- 14 hours.

I put them in a basket on top of my monitor, dries them in a few days.

dammit, guess ill go to the thrift store and try to find a cheap fan. dont have one now or i would have done that. so why do they go moldy if you dont fan dry? because ive done it this way and they get dried, but are they bad? they look fine and everything, i dont see why it matters.

I used to buy shrooms from a buddys buddy who grew them and they were always nice size and had straight stems and they werent all shriveled.How do you get your shrooms not to shrivel up completely and look ugly as hell.

i forgot to add that the ones i was talking about were very small. thats probably why they didnt go bad because it only took about 12 hours to dry them, mostly. gonna look for a fan today

just get some little 6" fan. dosn't have to be alot.
