Help!! I've got some jars that are producing shrooms and aren't fully colonized yet, what do I do? I'm afraid to birth them since the other times I've done that, they've gotten infected.

Birth them and cut off any uncolonized portions. If they're already fruiting, the myc probably won't colonize the remaining substrate anyway.

Either get sterile water from a pharmacy or just boil tap water.

How about you open a thread for this convo instead of cluttering up this one?

PF-Tek is for cubensis. Azures need a wood-based substrate. Always search for an answer first before starting a thread.

Nice...I'm going with the PF tek with the perlite Terrarium. I've seen some recomend a closed container and fanning, while others have holes drilled. Does it matter? Maybe someone who's tried both coud give me their opinion. -STG

A fruiting chamber must be able to provide 3 things: correct temperature, sufficient fresh air exchange and correct relative humidity. The last two are most important. The best options IMO are either a Shotgun FC or a Poor man's pod.
The shotgun FC has wet perlite on bottom and holes drilled on all sides, even on the bottom, so the airflow through the bottom will wick moisture in the air inside the FC.
Poor man's pod has water & geolite or some other brand of LECA at the bottom, and an airstone under the water connected by a hose to an aquarium air pump. This will blow air constantly into the FC through water, thus the air that enters will be at perfect humidity.
In both cases you get better results by also fanning & misting the FC regularly.
