I've been reading through some of the posts in here and to tell you the truth I'm astounded at how much misinformation is floating around. I think its important for everyone posting in here to realize that this is a mushroom cultivation website and not a firearm website, and that the gun advice you can expect to get is going to be second rate at best
If anyone has any serious questions about firearms in general feel free to PM me, I've been shooting since I was five, I own my own pressure molding business that produces polymer handgun and rifle stocks (albeit on a relatively limited basis since its winter ), have owned and fired more guns than most people I've ever and will ever meet, and have competed in a fair amount of smallbore matches. Even if I don't have any experience with what you might have questions about I'll do my best to help out and tell you where you can look for better resources

safety; treat a gun as if it is loaded always, don't point it at anything that you don't intend to shoot.
what eye and hearing protection do you use?
