The mushroom people said you don't have to go back. I was thinking that sounds good. I wondered about my dog mainly.

If you were still aware that your dog existed and is dependent on your continued existence, then you never went anywhere. More so, if he or she would be affected by your "absence", then again, you didn't go anywhere. To truly leave, you have to take the dog with you (in a Zen sort of way).

Why do people assume the psychedelic experience is so otherworldly?

So if I go on vacation and don't take my dog that means I didn't go anywhere?

Shamanism refers to it as the spirit world. It is different in function if not location. At the time it felt as if earth was inaccessible to me. Just as that world seems inaccessible to me in a sober state. Each time I am aware of the existance of the other state. I am trying understand the message. Which I believe may be that both worlds are accessible at the same time.

Presumably, Vegas isn't the same as the other side of reality.

You clarified it better this time. I think I understand.

At least you thought of your dog.

Wherever the hero may wander, whatever he may do, he is ever in the presence of his own essence — for he has the perfected eye to see. There is no separateness. Thus, just as the way of social participation may lead in the end to a realization of the All in the individual, so that of exile brings the hero to the Self in all.

I was once tempted to stay and had a similar experience. Some people find reasons to come back while others don't. I found that I have too much left to do before going. I'm sure if it wasn't the dog, it would have been another reason.

My friend once said that, "You can write on the paper but once you burn it that's it." I have my doubts that you can come back from that experience. But if you are truly ready to go that might be a great way to get out.

I don't believe in cops, bosses, or politicians. Some call that anarchism. I call it having a fucking heart that beats.

The mushroom people are what I call the shamanistic spirits. I guess they were implying that I didn't have to leave the spirit world and return to the regular world.

I really don't believe that I can stay there. I found it really profound that I really had  so few reasons to go back.

This knowledge that reality as we know it-- "normally"-- isn't the only reality that exists.
That our cultural 'choosing' of a certain reality as the 'norm' is widely accepted points us to the reasons why it is so.
But you don't have to remain in that reality, and neither do I.
Just return when you wish. It's all within you all the time.
Beatles - Within you without you. Many reside in more than one reality. We just don't observe them unless our mind is opened to connect to everyone and everything.

Schizophrenics... 'delusional' humans... perhaps they are living in a different reality than most of us.
Must we consider only one type of reality REAL?

Religious leaders... they speak what some consider 'nonsense' daily. The stories people come up with and write down as 'scripture'... Could they all just be "hallucinations"? Surely the only way a burning bush could talk is if it was imagined within someone's mind... Yet we assimilate them (religions) into society openly and freely.

It's all very connected.
