temps during spore conlonization?
    #952495 - 10/11/02 09:55 AM (14 years, 10 months ago)

I've read that warmer temps (not to exceed 85) speed colonization but lower yield. I may have misread some info and put my jars in the oven (like "on" not set at a temp) to keep them in a warm environment. I've also read to use a heating pad to keep them warm. Is this right or can I just leave them at room temperature. I hope I didn't nuke my little guys! Whats the hottest they can get without killing them? Should I just put em in a dark closet, or keep them warm ahhhhhhhhh!
Thanks so much

Happy Trails,
sAn trOpEz

I asked a similar question recently and just started growing. I used the heating blanket at first but this is NOT recommened because it began to dry out my jars. I bought a fully subersible aquarium heater and some cheap rubbermaid like containers for a self made incubator(look up the tek). I set the temp. to 85 degrees and my jars exploded with growth within days of putting them in there. Just make sure temps don't get in excess of 90 or so degrees.
