well well well

i have made an experiment, well actually 3 experiments but anyway, remember that i asked how long does the Thai strains need to colonize? that one  lol

i made a substrate of corn flour and instead of using water, i used beer that i had previously boiled.

here it is:

there must have been some shit going on with my pc, so there was no sign of mycelium in either 3 experiments [the other two with different substrates]. But then, i took a closer look, i saw that one of them has white stuff in it. Here u are:

At first i thought it was contamination of some kind, but i carefully noticed that there is rhizomorphic growth:

Waiting for your opinion on my wycked methods

How long has it been since you innoculated? And I wonder if any of that growth has even penatrated the substrated. Strange but good stuff.

Anno says the same thing. Its moving so slowly, its been incubating for a month or so and look! now it reaches the bottom. There is always a chance that the time needed will be eventually harmful to the mycelium.

I really dont mind. I did it because i have never seen it  the good thing, if everything goes okee will be that this is gonna be a massive mycelium some time and it will be much more strong than a pf cake. Perhaps we will see nice fruits and yields of it in the future. Who knows? We will see

In looking at the images, I also wonder the same thing as Skikid and Anno. The substrate looks very dense and I don't see any visible vermiculite. Maybe, as the substrate dried, it receded somewhat from the side of the jar and allowed the mycelium to grow around the "cake" along the surface. This would be similar to culturing on agar as far as growth and penetration of substrate are concerned.

Peace
