Western Washington Mushroom Hunters!

Hi, I live in Eastern Washington but have been making trips to the west side of the mountains in search of mushrooms (Liberty Caps and Cyans). So far I've had no luck finding anything except for extremely tiny liberty caps growing in a deer pasture near Quinalt/Amanda Park area about a month ago (they were too tiny to bother with). I'm wanting to make another trip this weekend, but as it seems the weather has been dry lately I wanted to ask anyone who's in the know: Are liberty caps growing abundantly in or around the Olympic Rain Forest area yet? Also, are cyanescens fruiting around Seattle or anywhere? I have little experience hunting, but have learned to identify libs and, to some extent, cyans... I would absolutely love to find some growing in the wild, but as I live 6 hours from the Olympic Peninsula I would hate to waste a trip and find nothing.
If I do go I'll probably leave on Friday or Saturday and explore for at least two days. I'll have the freedom to go just about anywhere on the west side, so if anyone would like to reveal where to find their own personal patches I would love to relieve you of them. Sooner or later I would also like to go hunting with others who share my love of mushrooms (my wife comes along for fun, but has no interest in shrooms)... especially someone with better identification skills than I currently possess.
Anyway, thanks in advance to anyone that can help.

there are libs in the fields over there, but why bother? there are cyans in sequim, port angeles, and port townsend, but why bother? seattle will have more cyans than humanly possible to pick as soon as we have some rain. just drive here one of these weekends after we get some good rain and Ill show you around.

Thanks for the replies guys... I'd be interested in meeting fellow hunters, so if you really want to get together email me at nirvhead@hotmail.com. I don't know about picking up two of you though, I drive a Geo Storm and have a wife and 3-year old But ze possibilities are endless. Especially if you know where the shrooms are growing at this time of year.

just a bit ago there was a post about finding liberty caps in Olympic Peninsula . Apparently there was an OVER abundance of them, and they were harvesting them, not hunting. Id like to visit Olympic Peninsula but im in vancouver bc, its a long drive and the libs here are getting pretty damn good.

Matthew,
I'm sorry that we never got to go mushroom hunting like we had talked about when you first posted this.
I'm glad that you and dobie got together and went hunting together many times.
I'm glad that you went to a Shroomery Gathering and got to meet some of our Shroomerite members.
I'm sad to hear of your passing...and I know that you had friends here in the Hunting forum that might want to know about your death.
RIP Matt much to ya!~

Wow. If you had read the entire thread you would notice that this is a tribute to Nirvhead. It's his first post from three years ago and was posted to honor his passing. I know that this wasn't intentional on your part, but...
RIP, Nirvhead

RIP Nirv.
I remember you showing up around here during my first season of hunting. You'd spend the last pennies of your money to buy gas so you could drive 5 hours (one way), and hunt mushrooms for 2 days straight.
See ya on the other side man.
