Stamets say:

Time to pick! Mine never turned pink because I harvested them at the right time, But I ADMIT yours don't look like the spines elongated...

If it was me, I'd let them go longer. To let the spines elongate. I'd turn the jars on the side to let them hang down. You can see that that is Exactly what I did with my bag.

They got big, but didn't turn colors, then I put the bag on its side. But this only an experiment. Wait to see if some one says to pick them or not. They just don't look elongated to me...

If they aren't done growing, Yes they will grow down into little icicles and if they are quarter size now all you need to elevate them is three inches at the most. Sorry, I am hesitant to help, because I don't want to give bad advice. Mine grew for like four days and looked like yours, minus the color. then I turned them, then they started growing icicles in the down direction. It won't be a big loss to try it, unless getting a print is crucial, but even then you could always trade something for one of my lions mane prints or something.

Seriously bro, It takes a huge block like that large spawn bag up there I showed you that weighed like 8 pounds to give me a 8oz flush. Lion's mane is tasty but takes big blocks to give decent fruit, so please report your experiment to me, bro. or at least to your shroomerite companions
