Using Corn Silage??
    #949715 - 10/10/02 01:12 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

My pet rock Stoner was telling me the other day of a friend, who has easy acccess to corn silage, the kind that you feed Dairy cattle with and theres litteraly tons of it there, and that it seems to be a ideal growing habitat for atleast worms as you dig a foot down into the top layer and find litteraly hundreds of them. (Outside, silage piles that have spilled over in same spots for years.)
Is pondering the nutritional value of it all in relation to other food ie: BRF.... .
Has anyone used this food before? And yes the same access is there for poo.
Figures would have to grind sufficiently and make sterile.
Any info would be appreciated...

As I sit here I ponder greater things.

Weather rotted or omposted corn silage mixed with old dry poo & pasturized would work fine as a bulk substrate. I would suggest you pasturize both in a dry state, then add boiled water to hydrate the mix.  Less stink.

Don't allow it to get too wet. Sqeeze like superman & if you can balely squeeze a single drop out, is about right. It is betterr that it is on the dryer side, than the wet side. 6T
