The new piรจce de rรฉsistance of my collection; my first ever Benchmade knife, a custom Crooked River. Absolute work of art:

Also, axis lock knives are almost as fast as automatics if you pull back on the lock and flick them open. No thumb stud required.
I slightly loosened the torx screws up on my 940 for faster action.

Yeah, when you get used to the axis lock its just about the fastest opening knife. I pull my benchmade out of the sheath and flick it open in one swift move (after carrying it for so many damn years its second nature). I've actually had people ask me if it was an automatic opener when standing next to me as I pulled it out.

Yeah I'm probably gonna go the same in future. Still enjoying the action like you describe.
Also; that thing is fucking sharp as fuck from the factory. Absolute razor. Big respect for Benchmade knives from here on out.

everyday blade is more like a kershaw leek in flat black if no the chive. also have the kershaw Blur, but thats more like a backup pack.
Got the same one and love it. Keep on the night stand or strap to the pack if hiking

Last one I bought for everyday carry to replace the one I lost. It was crafted in Normandy near the place I live.

I really didn't need another blade but I bought one of the new Benchmade automatic Mediators.

It is like an automatic version of the 940 I carry every day. I get the tingles when I hit it.

My backpacking/hiking/fishing/woods etc. knife is the larger, black Grand Way. The much, much smaller CRKT P.E.C.K. is my EDC:

Been using this guy for years. Sits next to my pillow at night, comes with me hiking and camping, pretty much a perfect daily carry knife.

I just purchased a Benchmade Bugout 535 EDC Drop-Point Serrated Blade, and I'm BEYOND STOKED!
Pics when it arrives early next week!

Serious question; anyone a user of, or ever use, the Vitorinox Swiss Champ Swiss Army Knife? It's the mother of SAK's:

I have my Benchmade Bugout 535 coming as my EDC/main, but I want something for camping, and this looks like it checks everything off that list and replaces the need for a Leatherman multitool for what I'd be using it for anyway. I don't give a shit about portability, as that's not what this is about. This is staying in a backpack, drawer, or glovebox whenever it's not in use.
Thoughts, Shroomies? Thanks in advance!

Just keep in mind that the more tools, the wider its going to be, and thus more cumbersome to use If you're cool with that, go for it.

I own this same model. I got it for the alox scales and the big awl on it. Rides in my pocket quite a bit. I'll carry just a regular folder sometimes, but always end up needing one of the tools and wonder why I'm not carrying the damn thing. My father had a huntsman that I really liked using, and have been eyeing getting one of those. Bit more versatility.

That's the thing though, dude, it's not an EDC it's a toolbox knife I plan on keeping in my glove box, trunk, or backpack 99.9% of the time. I have a bugout 535 as my EDC. The Champ would be solely for camping, hiking, etc. It's a toolbox for the backpack not a pocket!
It sounds like I have the right idea. Thank you!

I know, I read your post. My point was cumbersome to USE, not carry. When the handle is real wide your grip gets finicky using the narrow little tools on the thing. Its going to feel more like clutching a brick than a knife handle.
The anecdote about me wishing I had mine on me was just me ramblin. They're solidly made knives...
