You really carry that big ass blade everyday? Where do you live!? Either its not seen as odd where youre at, or ya just dont care what other folks think, haha!
I'm surprised how many folks carry fixed blades all the time. Shroomery's a kickass place

It's a valuable tool. What ever he does, he obviously uses it. That and if you got to poke somebody, the bigger the better. I'm all for well armed folks!

If i showed you what i've been carrying now you would think i'm crazy. but i've been feeling persecuted so i'm now carrying the 10 inch bowie knife, with a 5 inch Gerber strapped together as a single sheath. When resting my hand my 5 inch is level with my palm could pull it b4 anyone knows whats happening and it snaps in sheath nothing to do but pull and stab.
sounds like it would be crazy but the 2 sheaths look like they ment to be. they are held together by a single black cord with 1 knot. To personal to show a pic but really does fit together like a glove.

Can't go wrong with a good Ka Bar. I really like my MK 1. Good bit smaller, makes a little more convenient for carrying all day. Stripped all the paint off the blade. Kabar's carbon steel is excellent

I just googled the MK1, really good looking knife! Like you said, it's smaller and probably more legal than mine. I always be sure to keep it out of site while i'm out with it.

Is your profile honest about you being located in chicago? I thought the weapons laws, especially knife lengths, were pretty strict. Then again, if I was in chicago, i'd want to carry around a full size kabar too

I hate to do this, but that knife is kinda shitty. I bought the pilots survival knife because I liked the utilitarian look of it and the history behind it. The guard loosened immediately and sits crooked, the leather is stacked and cut horribly, and the steel dulls rather quickly and is hard to get sharp. The sheaths metal guard has sharp corners that'll cut clothes if not dealt with... Don't get me wrong, if you're looking for a beater it'll work fine. And I've heard that some of the genuine older models are top notch blades. The repro's are crapola. But I'd figure I'd save you some disappointment and point you in a different direction.
For a few $'s more, the buck 119 is a well crafted heirloom quality knife. And takes an edge and abuse like nobodies business. Buck has their heat treat perfected. The design of the leather sheath is unique and functions beautifully. The phenolic handles are indestructible. I've thrown mine at trees, skinned game, did food prep, chopped and carved wood. you name it, it's been thru it. I bought it with a gift card, so it was essentially free to me, and I have ABUSED it. Just a great fucking blade, especially for the money, it feels like a steal. It has become one of my favorites. The aluminum and black handled bucks, as well as the brass and cocobola ones (more expensive) come in many sizes and blade shapes as well, if the 119 isn't your speed
Kabar's are always good options as well if youre looking for that stacked leather look like the ontario, def more expensive for usa made ones. Their carbon steel is Good stuff. I tried out their stainless hunter knives, made in Taiwan, have a aluminum butt cap. They're less expensive. Good steel, classic look, good sheaths. excellent option as well. Look around a bit bud. Hope this helps

Haha yep, I was born and have lived in Chicago my whole life. They are pretty strict about blade lengths, but I never get bothered by cops anyway. Also, I will keep blade in backpack normally instead of on my person.

you're going to have to snap a picture of these fallen apart bucks, and also explain what the hell you're doing with your knives! Great thing about buck, is they have a lifetime warranty, so you can always send them back. If you're that rough on your blades, the ontario is a stick tang too, and might not be strong enough for whatever tasks your undertaking, I'd look into some of cold steels options.

Someone raped my Fallkniven F1
I lent him my F1 (epic mistake) and when I got it back the tip was broken off and there were two fairly deep dings in the edge.
Its a Fallkniven F1, a bushcraft knife. Only way you can accomplish that is if you've been handling that knife like it had no value to you.
Jesus flocking Christ!
Thats VG-10 steel, how do you even manage that?
The tip is straightforward enough but the dings in the blade will require quite some metal to come off the convex blade before its a smooth edge again.
Really pissed off.
Its not he first time he's been boorish with other peoples stuff while I doubt he'd do it the same way with his own stuff.
My fallkniven F1 is molested

I had a Kershaw Leek that I used to carry quite frequently back in the day. If you're unfamiliar with the knife, It has a VERY thin tip. Definitely fragile.
Had a fella ask to borrow my knife, without thinking I hand in to him, and I watch him sink the tip under a child safety on a bic lighter's flint wheel. Before he goes and pries with it, I snatch it from him, and put it back in my pocket.
I tell him to use his keys and not the tip of my knife, and he actually cusses ME out, called me a dick and everything, just because I wasn't going to let him neglect my knife.

You expect people to treat a knife with respect, especially a quality knife borrowed from a friend.
