I found the kershaw in the woods. It is a tiny bit rusty but still has a good edge on it. The one on the left I found at a garage sale for five dollars. Never used, extremely sharp and sturdy. It is my new favorite.

I walk around with a Kershaw Speedsafe everywhere for protection. I flip around the pocket clip from factory and put it on the other end of the knife. That way when i go to grab it out of my pocket it is already in "holding position" and is opening as im pulling it out of my pocket. Some homeless guy tried to rob me awhile back. The look in his eyes when he felt a poke in his belly as he reared back to punch me was priceless. He was smart enough to not want to fight anymore and put his arms up. And lucky enough that i didnt just stab him to begin with. My favorite knife. I'd say one way or another it has saved my life.
My "son"(really my wife) bought me another Kershaw for my birthday this year. Its a Funxion EMT. I like it, it being titanium and all. But i cant flip around the pocket clip, so i rarely carry it. Ive taken more dabs off of it than ive used it in reality.

Top to Bottom / Left to Right
Fox E.R.T. Rescue Knife - Attached to my Bunker Pants Suspenders for firefighting Gerber Prodigy - Camping knife TOPS Lite Trekker - Light Camping knife Tac-Force Big Boy Stiletto - Gag item/big-ass letter opener Fox A.L.S.R. 2 - Daily Carry while at work as Firefighter/E.M.T. Cheap butterfly knife - Daily Carry while off work (until it breaks or gets too unwieldy) Buck Bucklite 422 folder - Gift from my dad, sits in my nightstand Kershaw Black Colt 1045 - Gift from my dad, sits in my nightstand Barracuda Rostfrei?? - Saw a couple years of daily off-duty carry...It was a gift from my dad and apparently they can be bought online for about five bucks!! I would have definitely guessed around twenty bucks! The fine point on front opens boxes and letters with ease, while the serrations can cut down a box or cut rope just as well due to the curved edge. Small, light, cheap, hasn't broken. Great little pocket knife! Chipaway Cutlery Bowie - Gift from my dad, sits on a bookshelf as decoration Flea Market Special - Sometimes take it on bike rides as self defense
Hope you liked my post! I sure had fun writing it!!
By the way, my favorite is the Fox A.S.L.R. 2 with the spay point Blade.

Y'all got shit. Seriously. Imma attach a pic. On one side, my throwers and push dagger. On the other the ones I made myself. They make a satisfying thud.

Probably too late for your decision, but its a great knife for the price. i liked mine enough to get it powdercoated. definately not a beater but its great for everyday tasks

This is the knife I carry right now. Currently carrying it as a neck knife. Got tired of loosing pocket knifes and having clips come loose. The lanyard is there in case I set it down in the woods. It just makes it easier to find on the forest floor.

I like it a lot. Zero complaints. I just need to order the clip so I can carry it on my belt. I bought a Candiru at the same time but never use it. I found it to be too small.

Nice. I have the ESEE-6 and removed the powder coat. I like it, but you can't pound stakes with the butt. Yours doesn't have that problem. Also, I hate kydex, so I got a custom leather sheath for it.

It looks like a nice design. 57 Rockwell High Carbon. It should sharpen up nice and easy.

Did it lose its fit in the kydex after removing the coating? I stripped my becker Bk-11 and the kydex became loose. I boiled the kydex, squeezed it at the retention point with the knife in place. That fixed it.
After I stripped it, I put a patina with a mix of acidic condiments. Ketchup, mustard, and sauerkraut lol.

No, it's still nice and snug. I keep it in the kydex for storage, and I'm just letting the patina develop on its own. I just oil it with three and one every once in a while and always after it gets wet.

I dont really care for kydex, although it has a lot of redeeming qualities. Kind of like synthetic rifle stocks, I just dont like them.
My forced patina was from a tailgate party. That knife saw action as a spatula, bottle opener, mustard spreading, beer can "ventilation".. Someone wanted to try throwing it to see if it he could get it in a tree. Sure go for it! I never abuse my tools, but that knife asks for it.
It went into that kydex covered in crap so many times. Stuff that would have killed a leather sheath. It all went in the dish washer and came out spotless aside from the patina.
I still prefer natural materials, but Synthetic has its usefulness. Post that custom sheath when it comes please.
