I recently read some Australian research on indoor Morel fruiting that failed to induce sclerotia to fruit of several strains using parameters similar to what Ower described. They did say however that primordia formed on two PDA petri plates after being refrigerated for 11 months at 4 C. Interesting...

Here is my current thought process, and what I want to be the focus of my research this year.
1. Select a saprobic species, importuna, rufobrunnea, etc.
2. Select an aggressive strain from conducive species that aggressively form sclerotia
3. Cultivate sclerotia to maturity so that they are nutritionally capable of supporting fruiting.
4. Attempt various methods to induce carpogenic germination of sclerotia via external nutrient sources and other potential stimuli (I have several whacky ideas of how to anger my sclerotia)

Im interested to know what others thought are on this topic though. Do you think that wild morel sclerotia are "programmed" to fruit or not based on conditions during their formation? Or do you think it is the conditions present during the fruiting season that signal them to form fruit or just germinate more mycelium?

I will agree with this. That seems to be what happened with the one in my signature photos.
Only after eating all possible nutrients in the PDA.

Can I grow pleurotus tuber regium (Basidiomycet) even without the stage of sclerotia?

Thanks for the tuberregium info.

Can it be Morel mycelium? I have tried to clone it. I tried before but trich always appeared in the end and ate all. So I made agar from peroxide and table sugar. Everything growing slow there.

The outward growth looks good but the blob in the middle looks a little nasty. I have always had the best luck growing out morchella from multispore. It's so quick that you can usually transfer away from most contaminates. I would let it grow out a little and transfer from a healthy looking edge and see what you end up with.

Thanks. Do you know what kind of Morel it can be?

It's my fault that it looks like blob. I transferred it from agar plate where I put not enough agar agar so it's very soft and when transferred to new plate it take such shape.

I have made better pictures.

I just put flash light under agar and macro photo

Game over, this guy managed to fruit Yellow Morels on agar:

Look's like it's all about genetics, he must have hit the jackpot!

It’s not genetics and he didn’t prove Anything it’s already been demonstrated that you can get pin in vitro on a Petri dish

The real question is can he get fully developed fruit bodies on substrate otherwise it means nothing as mass production wouldn’t be a viable option

He’s on Reddit too and they are Micro fruit bodies only around the outer rim of the dish likely induced by oxidative stress as mentioned in several literary publications on the topic including the Chinese patent I believe

That’s a quarter in the pictures for comparison

This is currently where I’m at I found a great medium for initial colonization in jars/bags and it grows monster sized stones I just put them to coco coir to spawn so fingers crossed at least I now have plenty of viable spawn and a great spawn recipe

Not just the edges of the plate. On Facebook he has photos of the experiment replicated on multiple plates too.

He must have a mutant that has the fruiting genes all messed up.
