New idea for Terrarium.

Okay so.. I was thinking why not use a cheap transparent computer case with a 150watt power supply. You would be able to ghetto rig some grow lights in it, could get 3 fans for great air transfer, still be able to drill holes if you use the shot gun method, and it would just look bad ass. :P
I was thinking one like this.

Yep. Any suggestions for that? Pastic wrap and water proof tape maybe?

Too much hassle for me... if you can get it to work go for it.
How would you maintain humidity in it?

Could still just use perlite. It's smaller than most cases so I'm sure you wouldn't need as much perlite.

I guess I don't see why it would be need to be translucent if your using the power source and putting the lights inside the tower? As for water proofing couldn't you put like cut up glade containers and silicone it down?

If I were going to make a terrarium out of that well personally I would just go buy a tub from some store for like $5-$8 dosent get much cheaper than that. But if I was going to make it anyways using that tower I would take out the drive connections and the fans basically strip it down to were it is just a box then I would remove the top. After that then I would fill in all the really big holes and silicon the side on that way the only way to open it would be through the top. After that you could turn it into a shotgun or use the coolmist but hey why go through all that when you can just go by a tub.

Ok, just sitting there, you'd have too much air flow by far to keep the RH where it needs to be.
Next, the fans are water resistant as they'll get with the exception of the electrical (molex) connectors which could just be wrapped with electrical tape and left alone.
You would have to make the power supply turn on without a motherboard, which means you will have to jumper a couple wires... look it up.
Lastly, I'm not sure how you'd open it to harvest since the whole side comes off. Perhaps you could grow in trays inside the PC case? You could even use a tray of perlite on the bottom and fruiting/incubating trays on top.

Yeah trays would be a much better idea then just dumping perlite in. :P Also, Most newer power supplies do turn on without a motherboard, the 650 watt i have in my comp right now does. I deffinetly wouldn't need a 650watt in it to grow but it was only 15$

You said 150 watt. I haven't seen a 150 that will turn on by itself. Just giving you tips on what will need to be done. I have definitely pondered the idea myself as it would be a very slick looking grow box.
Couldn't bring myself to do it though.

True i would probably be forced to get a larger volt. But geeks.com has really cheap Power supply's. And the completely transparent cases are pretty cheap too.

This is about as practical as the "old refrigerator heated by a clothes iron incubator" from yesterday: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/9473519#9473519
If you actually did it and had some cool pics it would be interesting. Novelty aside, it's not advisable to try this over a tub. Nevermind the fact that you advise to put lights inside the terrarium, or use it for the shotgun-tek (wtf?).
I haven't read any growlogs that benefited from utilizing a fan, aside from folks who used fans in the same room as monotubs to supposedly circulate more air around. But, never a fan hooked up directly inside any terrarium. ~Pixie~
