For the Linux users which is your favorite flavor?
I was an Ubuntu guy when I first started using Linux but lately I've been tinkering with Sabayon/Slackware. A few more weeks of messing around and one of those will be my new favorite.

I have only tried ubuntu and love it so I guess this post means nothing.
Linux > Windows for sure though.

I only use Ubuntu because I've been using Windows for 15 years, which makes me an interface whore

I used to be a hardcore slackware fan boy back when I started, then in ~'05 I migrated to gentoo and I haven't looked back .

Im on slackware right now too, just installed yesterday infact after my archlinux broke yet again after an update...nothing pisses me off more than having to update config files every other day when keeping up to date, i just want my shit to work...hopefully slackware will be my home.
I have used:
ubuntu pclinuxos gentoo archlinux slackware
I REALLY liked pclinuxos at the time of using it, and still do, but am trying out some other stuff.
Gentoo was fun, but just too much damn work for little benefit. To get some software installed i would have to wait for long compiles just to save 30kb of install space. Also, to get shit to work like I wanted just took a lot of work...sometimes i would spend DAYS getting a single program setup an working like I want. The install (which many complain about) really isn't that bad, i just didn't like waiting all the time, and having to set up every little thing manually, while full control is nice, the benefit you gain from it on modern systems is so slight, that its not worth the headache IMO...now if you need linux for odd devices that are not computers, or really old computers/odd hardware, gentoo is great. also, emerge is a GREAT system, one of the best package/dependency handlers out there. I really need to try out sabayon, since i hear it is gentoo with a little less work.
Ubuntu is good and very usable, i liked it and was great for a starter setup...in the linux world it is considered the 'windows' of linux, if you get what im saying. However it has its place and is doing great things for making linux more popular.
Arch was great and i really liked it, still do, and may go back to it if i just start to hate slackware. My only gripe is that you have to constantly reconfig things. I swear every other time i would run pacman -Syu, i would not be able to startx, and would have to go through some config files and set everything back up...annoying as all hell.
Here I am on slackware now, just starting to get the feel for it, need to work on figuring out how to compile stuff for this system, get other applications installed from its repositories, etc...so we will soon see. However, i do find it quite a bit more bloated than was led to believe, it thought it was a 'lightweight' distro, but not really, it has quite a bit on its default install, not necessarily a bad thing, but not great.
thats my take on it, i have yet to find a 'best' linux for me, and will continue distro hopping until i find my home OS.
peace
