Just a site I stumbled across in regards to our recent threads about legalization and what not involving Obama. I think we at least got the communities attention about it when we got that question to number one on Change.gov

He wouldn't try to do something so radical with his first term. If he gets re-elected and he's got nothing to lose he would be more likely to push an issue like legalization

Which is why he fails at being a good leader, if that's true, automatically.

The man isn't an idiot. There are tons of words I could use to describe him but he isn't stupid.

Nope, he's very intelligent in the way that he is...
But he is not a president, shouldn't lead a mouse to it's hole in the wall.
He is not a leader and does not know what he's getting himself into

something as radical as doing what the people want? 10 states have decriminalized the demon weed including 2 of them in the ultra religious south east, I thought this change was about listening to the people, what we've seen so far is that his change is just more of the same, Obama will not see a second term

He won a presidential election; that indicates to me he (or at least his party) has the skills to get people to follow him.
The problem is that a great majority of his campaign seemed to be won out of an ideal promise of great changes; to pretty much any one upset about anything within the system. Now that he has been elected the hard part will be to keep him to his word on these promises. I say good luck; almost every politician in recent history has won a campaign with at least 1 or 2 broken promises.

George W. Bush won 2 elections, do you know anyone personally that actually voted for bush? I'm in a red state and know of no one that voted for him

Nixon was elected twice and so was Reaganstein, I'm not saying the best decisions are being made here...but they seems to be the popular choice.
Were right in the middle of a non-confidence vote issue in our gov at the moment so realistically it seems no ones been making good calls with the conservatives these days.

"Seem" being key word there. I can't imagine over 50% of this country voting for Bush's last term. I know I'm talking about a seemingly crappy general population, but I have to give them the shadow of a doubt at least.
We has no say so

His reply to the question is exactly what scares me about the fact that Obama won.
People were under the impression that he was going to be pro-legalization when in fact he clearly stated before the election that he was NOT.
I wonder how many people who voted for him even understood his positions?
He's just another politician. This will become evident in the next few years.
"Change" lol

I'm down for a general population genocide. I suggest tasting a sweet minority government for a while, limiting their powers by keeping a firm placement of its opposition.
It prevents either side from making strong radical changes which could bring instability to markets or any kind of relations and yet also allows for a majority government to be formed during times when the public opinions change.
That is one thing I never understood about the general 2 party system of the states; peoples opinions on economics and politics can change; often quicker than in the past in our day and age; shouldn't your government reflect that change a bit more frequently than 1 party choice every 4 years? or a bit less or more depending on congressmen and senators...

Actually one reason we are so hated in the world is that not many other governments can completely change courses every 4 years. Our system makes it pretty damn hard to negotiate treaties as well.

In what sense? most nations have elections of their own in a similar manor.
