Liberty caps are quite difficult to cultivate. If he has any fresh shrooms left he could clone one to make a culture on agar or in a nutrient filled solution (e.g. malt + sterile water). From this, I belive he would want to take the most rhizomorphic piece of agar, or a large amount of liquid mycelium, and innoculate grass seed. I'm not sure how to spawn/case from there in order to get fruits. If a spore print were taken your friend could try making a sterile syringe, and then spraying the result in an appropriate place; or possibly you could get mycelium to grow on cardboard or some other medium in an outdoor patch. It could be quite some time before he sees results though. All of these techniques require quite a bit of reading, a modest investment in a pressure canner and and other equipment to insure sterility, and frankly, at least some experience cultivating mushrooms.

So, to make a long story short. Your friend would be better off eating them (assuming they are really liberty caps and not some inactive, toxic, or deadly species).

1/ Growing semilanceata is extremely difficult.
2/ This is advanced mushroom cultivation, I don't think your friend has the knowledge or skill.
3/ If you had done some research, you would have a small idea of how to grow.
4/ I am locking this post, go read the faq!

Good luck
